Organisation, Team building and Inclusion – Malta Visual and Performing Arts School

In such an exercise, team building is the foundation. Students started by working together as a team made up of other students and classmates all specialising and practising Drama/Theatre. Since the students were already Drama Students, they had already worked together before and got to know each other before starting the project. However, when Dance and Music students were introduced to the group, that was a different experience. Students met other students who were also proud of their subjects and could detail the importance it should be given during a performance. After a couple of clashes all of them learned how to accept each other’s opinions and find a way how to work together towards one performance with the different elements put together in harmony without one taking more importance than the other. They started to focus on how to obtain the best way to tell a story and that was enough to bind them together and start seeing each other’s perspectives. This was a very useful exercise and the students who were part of this project, are easily singled out from the whole school because the way they deal with their class mates and those who were also part of the project is very different from those who did not have the experience.
