The Process, Rehearsals and Performance – National College “Saint Sava”
The journey began with hours spent in libraries and archives, diving deep into the life of Queen Marie of Romania. We meticulously pieced together her story, weaving historical facts with dramatic flair to create a compelling script. Once the script was ready, the next step was casting. I remember the excitement of finding actors who could bring Queen Marie and her world to life. Our team of designers then got to work, creating stunning costumes and sets that would transport our audience back in time.
Rehearsals started with a read-through, where the cast and crew gathered around a table, scripts in hand, to read the story aloud. It was thrilling to hear the words come to life for the first time. Next came the blocking sessions, where we carefully planned every movement on stage. I watched as the actors began to embody their characters, adding depth and emotion to their performances. Technical rehearsals were a whirlwind of activity, with lights, sounds, and special effects being fine-tuned to perfection.
Finally, the big day arrived. The hours leading up to the performance were a flurry of last-minute adjustments and nervous energy. As the curtain rose, the actors stepped into their roles, and the audience was transported to another era, mixed with comedy of the modern age. Watching from the wings, I felt a mix of pride and relief as months of hard work culminated in a seamless performance. The applause at the end was the perfect reward, and we celebrated the successful show, already thinking about ways to make the next one even better.
