The Target Competences and Learning Approach – National College “Saint Sava”
Target competences:
- HISTORICAL KNOWLEDGE – understanding the life, significance, and influence of Queen Maria of Romania, as well as the historical context of World War I and its impact on Romania.
- RESEARCH SKILLS – ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize information from books, articles, and academic sources.
- ARTISTIC EXPRESSION – developing skills in various forms of artistic expression including theatre, film, and music.
- TEAMWORK AND COLLABORATION – working effectively in a team to produce a cohesive and engaging performance.
- TECHNICAL SKILLS – using projectors, speakers, and other theatre equipment to enhance the performance.
- PERFORMANCE SKILLS – acting, mime techniques, and the ability to convey emotions and narratives without dialogue.
- CREATIVE PROBLEM SOLVING – combining different art forms to create an original and historically accurate play.
- AUDIENCE ENGAGEMENT – creating an engaging performance that appeals to modern audiences while being informative.
Learning approach:
- RESEARCH-BASED LEARNING – starting with in-depth research on Queen Maria and the historical context, using a variety of sources to gather accurate information.
- EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING – engaging in hands-on activities such as rehearsals, set design, and costume creation.
- COLLABORATIVE LEARNING – working in teams to share ideas, distribute tasks, and support each other throughout the process.
- INTERDISCIPLINARY LEARNING – combining different art forms (theatre, film, music) to enhance the learning experience and create a multifaceted performance.
- REFLECTIVE LEARNING – continuously reflecting on the process, evaluating what worked well, and identifying areas for improvement.
